15% global price increase
Not to bore you, we host the web servers that host our clients’ sites in the largest and most reliable data center in Europe.
For the first time in 15 years of working with them, we received a notification 2 weeks ago that they are immediately increasing their prices by 15%.
** This was before the attack and war on Iran that started March 7, 2026. **
They have announced that they will immediately increase prices by 15%!!
Why web hosting prices are rising
The reason for this “sudden” 15% increase in web hosting costs is the very high prices of energy costs and hardware (RAM, CPU, Motherboards, NICs, etc.), due to the demand from companies that provide AI (Artificial Intelligence) services.
We have to pass this increase on to our customers and we hope the increases will stop here.
The war in Iran and the consequences it will have on the world economy and global inflation are a matter of concern.
I wish the increases would stop here.
Absorption of increases
In all previous years, we have tried to absorb most of the cost of providing web hosting services.
We absorbed most of the annual increases in the cost of cPanel.
We have absorbed most of the annual cost increases of justified increases in hardware prices.
Do we earn more or less in 2026 compared to 2025 or 2009?
The truth is that in 2026 (despite the 15% increases), we earn much less while providing a better service.
If we had incorporated into our prices the real inflation in food, services, energy, taxes, we would have had to increase our web hosting prices and the prices of our services in general by 200%.
Not to win more, but just to be at the 2009 level.
